A civil society NGO established in 2012 with long experience of work in international projects, focusing on sustainable lifestyle and urban development. Complex questions combining art and science and applying game is our methodology. We believe that local actions steer the global change. Through different projects the aim is to transfer knowledge and expertise in the field of science, art and creativity.

Global Playground has conducted international projects focusing on sustainable lifestyle and urban development: the Erasmus plus project “Green in Everyday Life” and the project a “Tour into Swedish Sustainable Lifestyle”.

Agrupamento de Escolas de Loureiro, Portugal

 

Agrupamento de Escolas de Loureiro, https://www.aelpb.pt/ is a non-profit public basic school with approximately 1000 students, from 3 to 15 year old, with 115 teachers and 67 staff members. It is situated in a small rural area, Loureiro - Oliveira de Azemeis, with industry nearby.

The school´s curriculum follows the national programme and aims also for the teaching of other areas, such as developing creativity within our students’ skills, with subjects such as “Creative expression”, “Robotics”. "Science Club".

There is a compulsory ICT and Robotics lesson from 5th to 9th year and in Primary schools there is also an introduction to ICT in the curriculum. English is a subject taught since the 3rd year to 9th year students, being part of the curriculum, however younger children from 3- to 8-year-old have also in their curricula English as a complement in their learning process. There is also a department for children with special educational needs, who are included in regular classes.

The school offers a wide range of extracurricular activities such as sports, chess, environmental Club (Eco-School) , arts, radio and Theatre Clubs and the School online Newspaper. It’s a community-friendly school concerning environment, culture and social issues. The local governmental representatives, social and cultural associations, as well as other private schools (music, dance, and drama), have been working in partnership with the school.

The school is an “Eco-school flag” from the Ministry of Education, for it has, over the years been associated with the programme “” (Eco-friendly school) developing a wide range of activities that reach our Kindergarden, primary and middle school students.

The school always searches for strategic partnerships to develop cooperation and innovation in teaching/learning methodologies and engaging students and teachers in new projects of cooperation, raising our awareness of social, cultural differences and strengthening a European sense of unity and respect for the other. The aim is to make students learn more efficiently as well as engage parents in school activities.

The school’s development plan has been implementing international cooperation so that students and teachers can be involved in new ways of teaching and learning, trying to keep up with teaching and learning innovative methodologies among European countries. AEL has been engaged in several Erasmus+ projects in years before, to gain knowledge and disseminate among teachers 21st digital skills, STEM, Health and environmental/sustainable topics.

Innovation Frontiers IKE, www.innovationfrontiers.gr is an innovative educational technology & research company whose main target is to develop new educational approaches through working in close cooperation with educational institutions, such as universities, schools, adult & vocational centers and educational oriented NGOs.

The company is exploring new ways of using modern technology and modern teaching methods to improve the lifelong learning environment and make learning more accessible and more fun. The company integrates the implications of educational neuroscience in classroom so as to improve the efficiency of learning and teaching.

Innovation Frontiers IKE develops, implements and coordinates educational projects related to virtual and augmented reality; robotics; online school tutoring; production of digital educational resources; development of multiplatform educational games; management and optimization of educational platforms; education for the media and integration of ICT in classrooms to enhance the learning process.

The staff of Innovation Frontiers IKE consists of a combination of educators, psychologists, neuroscientists, graphic designers, artists, game designers and programmers. Combining technical expertise with pedagogic expertise is a strength that sets the company apart from most other companies in this field.

The company develops e-learning platforms · open educational resources · Serious Games · Technology enhanced instruction · Mobile Apps · Educational animations.

Currently working on two R&D initiatives in cooperation with Greek Universities: a) The development of an “open world” 3d educational game that grows with the kids. b) The development of virtual reality software for educational purposes.

AHMET BALDOKTU ILKOKULU, Turkey

 

The organization is affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, General Directorate of Basic Education. It is located in Kocasinan district of Kayseri province.http://abi.meb.k12.tr . There are 7 schools that we have interaction in the education region and is part of the project for Promoting Integration of Syrian Kids into the Turkish Education System (PIKTES).

 

The mission of the organization is to train self-disciplined students who can associate what they have learned at school with their real-life experiences with the help of their all-around teachers using every part of school as an educational area.

The vision of the organization is to train self-confident, scientific, wise and intellectual individuals who are aware of the social and universal problems, able to find solutions for such problems. It is also aims for the respect to the human rights, raise awareness for diversities as wealth and use both Turkish and at least one foreign language effectively in their lives.

The organization has experience in the integration of migrant children and developed the eTwinning project "I'm Learning Games from My Family" as well as in Comenius, Grant Projects and Erasmus+ projects.
